It works out for both of us. Even though I didn't want to take on Pippen, it was necessary.

I don't really understand this for the Nuggets.
Is the slight upgrade in Richardson over Hughes worth trading Alonzo Mourning, Scottie Pippen and a 2nd rounder for Priest Lauderdale and Rafer Alston? Other than that they are just swapping 1st round picks.
Trade breakdown: Richardson vs Hughes Alonzo Mourning (!), Scottie Pippen, 2nd rounder vs Priest Lauderdale and Rafer Alston 2003 Blazers 1st vs 2004 Nuggets/Grizzlies 1st - these look to be about even, next year's might be a higher pick but you have to wait a year
Is the difference between Hughes and Richardson really worth that much to the Nuggets GM? I mean it better be considering he just gave up Mourning, Pippen and a 2nd for Lauderdale and Alston in order to upgrade from Hughes to Richardson.
With as good of a deal as I thought the Nuggets made when they acquired Alonzo Mourning, it seems like they just wasted that move by giving him away.
