1. Nets (via Bucks)
The Nets have a solid core in place right now and simply could be a dominate player away from getting to the top of the league. Luckly the Nets hold the rights to the Bucks pick in 2002 which has plenty of big men to choose from. Yao Ming is the clear favorite to go here and rightfully should but Jay Williams is making a serious push for the #1 spot in the TMBSL.
Selection: Yao Ming C
2. Pistons
The Pistons need a lot of help in a lot of areas. They have Darius Miles who has impressive numbers but isn't producing a lot. Jason Richardson is young and should continue to get better. They could go in a lot of different directions and the one they choose could lead them to a quick fix or a slow rebuild. Jay Williams is the 2nd best player available but the Pistons have two starting quality point guards already.
Selection: Jay Williams PG
Note: This might not be the best move unless the Pistons clear up space for Jay.
3. Pacers
Pacers have a groung young core mixed with a awesome set of vets who can allow this team to quickly go from worst to one of the best teams in the league. If the Pacers get lucky and the Pistons draft best available and not best fit they could find themselves getting a great impact player.
Selection: Drew Gooden PF
4. Nuggets
Denver is in need of a big man and bad. Moving either into the #1 or #2 spots will be ideal for them to nab Yao Ming or Drew Gooden and they could do it for cheap with the multiple point guards available. If they can't make a trade to move up guys like Amare Stoudemire could come in but might eat minutes away from current star Zach Randolph and Amare doesn't have the ability to play center.
Selection: Jared Jeffries SF/PF/C
Note: Jeffries might not be the best here but he has a huge ceiling and is so young yet capable of playing multiple spots he would be huge backing up the C, PF, and SF spots and give a huge impact.
5. Spurs
Spurs could go in a lot of directions here. They need to find a future star guard as their point guards are too old or Jalen Rose is better at SG than PG. SF is also an issue for the Spurs as they have no one there of importance. PF is another spot that needs some work as Brian Cardinal has potential but isn't doing anything. Corliss Williamson appears more a player scoring major numbers simply because no one else can score.
Selection: Carmelo Anthony
Note: Melo is a possible top 50 player of all time and if he decides to come out of High SChool the Sprurs would get a steal. Would need time but you can't pass on Melo.
6. Pistons (via Kings)
With the second pick in the draft the Pistons were able to snag a possible #1 option in Jay WIlliams and then have a huge gift drop to their laps at #6 with Amare still on the board.
Selection: Amare Stoudemire
7. Heat
Dajuan Wagner still available at number 7 is a great value pick here. He fills the need for a good point guard and gives Paul Pierce another guy who can fill the bucket.
Selection: Dajuan Wagner
8. 76ers (via Bulls)
The 76ers are in a prime position to make a huge move for the city of Philly if they can some how swing into the top 5 of this draft. They have the pieces to do it. Multiple vets who can score, the #8 pick and their own 1st. If they could find a taker and nab a second lotto pick even better. This selection is simply icing on the already stacked cake.
Selection: Mike Dunleavey
9. Suns (via Nets)
The Suns have been wheeling and dealing and have found themselves holding onto 3 lotto picks. If the pick order stays to form they will need to try and move up a few spots to best address their needs. That said a guy like Caron Butler is a nice piece to 'settle' for.
Selection: Caron Butler
10. Suns (via Sonics)
The Suns have a few options here. They need to add a PF, C, PG, and a SG. Boozer is still there and might have the best impact right away of who is left. Kareem Rush has top 5 talent but has slipped. Nene is he most raw player available but could have the best potential of anyone in the draft. Manu might be the right choice but has the hefty contract.
Selection: Manu Ginobili
11. Bucks (via Grizzlies)
Where do you go from here. The Bucks need help everywhere. They have stackhouse and a possible starting poing guard in Omar Cook and a possible starting PF in Michael Wright. Mike Miller could be a great 6th man.
Selection: With Nene dropping all this way the Bucks need to take him as he will be a nice piece to bring along.
12. Suns
The Suns 3rd lotto pick will most likely be shipped to move up if this order holds true. However since we can't predict trades we will pick for them.
Selection: Carlos Boozer
13. Cavs
The Cavs have a tough choice. Pick the tweener in Fred Jones who might not have as big of an impact right away or go with the defensive minded wing player in Tayshaun Prince? Prince might be the better pick here as he can play SG and SF and is an already solid defender which is something Jones isn't.
Selection: Tayshaun Prince
