IMO
1st-2nd Round Picks = 3 year deals
3rd-4th Round Picks = 2 year deals
5th to 12th 1 year deals
Would help solve the lack luster FA situation Ian was alluding too.
As far as the creation draft goes.
Get the player pool created. Give everyone two days to look it over and send over a top 100 list. EVERYONE MUST send a list.
1-2 rounds you get 45 min per pick
3-4 rounds you get 30 min per pick
5-7 rounds you get 20 min per pick
8-12 rounds you get 15 min per pick
The time is online or offline.
Trading of future picks during creation draft. Can not give up back to back 1st round picks and can not have less then 2 1st round picks in a 4 year span. You also may not trade picks past 1994.

The best idea is definitely to not tie contracts to draft positions. When the draft pool comes out, list all the players out in excel. Randomize the numbers "1, 2, 3, 4, 5". Then when they're randomized, go down the list of players in excel and that's their contract length. So like this:  So it adds strategy. Do I want Sergei Karaulov or Soloman Jones? Karaulov is better but I can have Jones for 4 years. |

I'll also volunteer to help run the creation draft, I.e. put in draft picks, auto pick people, and such.

OK so I guess all we need to do now is actually create the league.
Are you guys ok with me running the league? I would love for Poetic to run it in the long run. Maybe I can start it up and hold it down for a few months. When Poetic is able to handle it long term and I can hand over the duties? idk

Also, where the hell are u guys getting the idea that you can "chip in" to helping run the league? it isn't like 1+1 = 2. Either u have access to the complete save file or you don't, there is no "oh I'll help create 10 guys and send it to someone" and "oh i'll be responsible for 2 rounds of drafting" without giving everyone access to the save file, which is a bad thing.
So ONE person with access and knowledge to FBB and uploading the files on ducksattack will need to suck it up and recreate an entire database of 500+ players so the rest of us can bitch and moan at him.

Whoever decides to run the league is gonna have to ask jsirr for permission to his FTP too, I don't feel comfortable giving access to all his site's files.
