Wright is the classic case of production vs. potential, as Kevin GOAT sim league player Durant's decision to join the Tar Heels meant Brandan Wright was relegated to a super sub coming off the pine. When Wright saw the floor, he flashed athleticism and skill that had NBA scouts buzzing. Most of his points came close to the basket off rebounds or finishing fast breaks, leaving his offensive repertoire somewhat of a mystery. But the hook shots and short jumpers he did put up revealed great touch for a youngster. That same touch has scouts feeling he may be able to push his range back further to 16 or 17 feet. His ability to get up and down the court is special for a true PF prospect, and he does a good job recognizing the double team and making the right passes out of it. Defensively and on the glass, his elite athleticism should result in more production, but unfortunately his effort did not match his immense physical gifts. At times he almost appeared to coast on the glass. Here's hoping should Wright declare or return to school that someone can light a fire in him to maximize his potential.
