Inside = B-: Very difficult to stop in the paint at his size, but also shows above-average touch around the hoop. If there is one area he needs to improve, it’s his footwork, as he is relatively limited in post moves.
Outside = D+: Poor free throw shooter, shows improvement in range on his hook shot, but make no mistake about it, he’ll be a pure back to the basket big man
Handling = C-: Plus fluidity in the open court, not quite the athletic freak Dwight Howard is, but still a very impressive athlete in his own right. Is rarely stripped in the post due to his massive hands.
Defense = B: Possesses the size/strength combination of a 10 year NBA vet, with enough foot speed to step out into the perimeter. Impacts the game in every way on the defensive end.
Rebounding = B: At 7 foot 240 lbs he’ll be able to box out NBA players right away, but it’s his leaping ability which should make him one of the best rebounders in the league later in his career.
Potential = A: No HS prospect has sparked as much hype and anticipation since LeBron James. Considering how integral elite big men have been to NBA teams in the league’s history, it’s easy to see why teams are borderline giddy at the thought of landing Oden.
