Saer Sene Age: 20 Height: 7’0’’ Weight: 237 Position: PF/C Inside = C: Very raw offensively, his offense is mostly putbacks and dunks. Lacks anything remotely resembling a go-to move in the post. Outside = D: Very limited range and poor touch. Simply awful from the FT line. Handling = C-: Runs the floor decently for a big man. Defense = B-: His athleticism and his 7’8’’ wingspan have NBA scouts drooling. Sene is active on the defensive end and shows great hustle. Even if he doesn’t block the shot, his presence is enough to intimidate penetrating guards. Rebounding = B-: Sene averaged 5.2 RPG in only 12 MPG for his team in Belgium. Shows good tenacity boxing out and fighting for boards. As would be expected, his length and leaping ability are huge assets here. Potential = A: Sene may be the biggest boom-or-bust prospect in the entire class. One of the toughest players to evaluate in quite some time, Sene has physical tools rarely seen in a young 7-footer. On the other hand, he’s only been playing basketball competitively for 3 years, and at times looks lost on the floor. **NOTE: Sene reportedly has 3 years left on his contract, but has a clear buyout sum of $425,000 this year or $375,000 next year should he decide to stay another season in Europe. He will almost certainly stay in the draft.
