Strengths
Was ranked in the top 10 of his class in High School, flirted with the NBA, and has now declared after putting up huge numbers in his 1 year at Minnesota. Coach Dan Monson has made comparisons to Karl Malone. Humphries brings a blend of athleticism, quickness, and strength down low in the paint. He is a good rebounder and great defender. Pretty much the protoypical power forward at the next level.
Weakness[/u]
He is a little small for a big man, but still young enough that he has room to grow. Attitude questions have been swirling around this young man as well. Needs to work to develop if he wants to fulfill the high amounts of praise he has received, and he may not have the attitude needed to improve year in and year out.
Scout's Take[/u]
Humphries did everything that the scouts wanted to see in his 1 year at Minnesota and he is definitely ready for the league. Scouts are impressed by his combo of scoring, defense and rebounding at such a young age. Attitude is questionable and could lead to stunted development. If he pans out, he is a double double waiting to happen. Late lottery to mid 1st.
