Strengths
Jameer Nelson's running mate at St. Joe's, Delonte West has been ignored to an extent. West is a sharpshooter from downtown and will come in ready to contribute from outside. He averaged nearly 5 assists a game despite playing at the 2 guard so he could possibly develop into a PG as well. Gritty defender who won't hurt you on the defensive end of the floor.
Weakness
Delonte's ceiling isn't as high as his teammate Jameer so he doesn't have an extremely high upside. Needs to improve his inside scoring. Is very skinny for a 2 guard and may need to add some weight to improve his strength. Some scouts have questioned whether he is a PG or a SG and he has been labeled a "tweener".
Scout's Take
Delonte likely won't make any All Star games but he will give you a solid guard who will be able to play the 1 or the 2, can shoot from outside, and plays solid defense. Has the chance to develop into a great 3 point threat. Late 1st to early 2nd.
