So poe and ohh seemed to cover the season preview from an "in depth" stand-point, and press conferences seemed to have bogged the creativity of the articles a little bit, so I decided to preview every team in the league by creating a haiku for each. For those of you who forgot your lessons from 4th grade English, a haiku is a 3-line, 5-7-5 syllable poem, with no rhyming style.
I hope you enjoy them and maybe even find them somewhat insightful (and look about the creativity favorably).
Atlantic Division
Boston Celtics
Primed to be favorites
Traded away All-Star guard
Will it cost title?
Miami Heat
Tanked for LeBron James
Lottery was cruel mistress
Darko to save them?
New Jersey Nets
Yao double-doubles
Houston, Van Horn score in loads
Playoffs seem a lock
New York Knicks
The King has arrived
Knicks still a floundering team
Reign must wait for now
Orlando Magic
Defending champions
Keep whole title team in tact
Will it win again?
Philadelphia 76ers
Hill and McDyess star
But rookie Williams runs ‘O’
Baptism by fire
Toronto Raptors
Old men retired
New G.M. takes over squad
Kobe still means wins
Washington Bullets
Best team out last year
Plagued by injuries all year
Shaq back with vengeance
Central Division
Atlanta Hawks
Pre-season East faves
Started season out slowly
Playoffs still await
Charlotte Eastern Conference Powerhouse Hornets
Clark got paid fat bank
Lewis becoming a star
Title run or bust
Chicago Bulls
G.M. Bankz loves trades
Broke up dynamic ‘Big Three’
Bulls fans wait for youth
Cleveland Cavaliers
Trade adds Robinson
Now three 20 point scorers
Past first round this time?
Detroit Pistons
Big trades land ‘Big Three’
But will Three be enough?
Depth issues say no
Indiana Pacers
Young team looks forward
Will Carmelo be a star?
They better hope so
Milwaukee Bucks
Poor trofie, poor Bucks
Long rebuilding is ahead
Patience is a must
Midwest Division
Dallas Mavericks
Dump made some good moves
Are House and Murray enough?
Should have kept Duncan
Denver Nuggets
Team traded Mourning
Now gives up many points
Surprised? Not really
Houston Rockets
West champs defend crown
Vince Carter has passion
This isn’t real life
Minnesota Fighting Kahns
Defensive artists
Forged by architect Kahn
Strong West contenders
San Antonio Spurs
Team builds for future
All players under 30
Many draft picks needed
Utah Jazz
Defense wins titles
LaFrentz and Glove provide that
Will Stack score enough?
Memphis Grizzlies
Potential abounds
But those As won’t help this year
Deadly in future?
Pacific Division
Golden State Warriors
Traded chance at Wade
Now built around Gasol’s play
Still one year away
Los Angeles Clippers
Its Baron’s fast team
But bigs seem to be lacking
Could cut playoffs short
Los Angeles Lakers
Kidd good as ever
Humphrey late pick sensation
Back in playoff hunt
Phoenix Suns
One of league’s deepest
But is there a superstar?
Amar’e can’t board
Portland Trailblazers
Young team trades front line
Gets potential in return
Still a ways away
Sacramento Kings
Young and Talented
Jermaine must carry this team
Sexy playoff pick
Seattle Supersonics
Campbell for Laettner
But Dirk and Billups still here
Could mean postseason
