You know what I wanted in that deal too. Arenas=way too young to be worth anything right now. Lol So Gilbert, Nene, Jefferies, Nets 2003 first isn't worth TD? Puh-leeze. That almost got me the #3 AND #4 picks in the draft which is way better than Duncan. It probably is in many people's eyes. I just don't see a reason to take on Gilbert. He is not good at all right now.

Why? Because he is 20 years old and while AI is a star he is 28 and is going to get older AND worse. So you bring on Gilbert to develop and learn from AI and when Gilbert is ready you trade AI when he is still in his prime and nab a few more first round picks/or players like Gilbert right now. While you wait he gives you your backup PG AND SG that you need. Boom question mark filled. Then at SF you have Pippen who is getting older and lets be honest all you will get for Pippen is a late first or an ok-solid youth prospect. Well now you have Jefferies who, oh look, is only 21 years old and A potentil and a top 10 pick! He's waiting in the wings the next year or two while Pippen still plays at a solid level. Now you lost Duncan but you also brought in Zo to handle to block as well. But you've also added Nene who was a terror on the boards in only half a game's action and wait for it....is only 19 years old! Howard and Magalori are solid pieces for role players. Hell I even offered to give you Troy Hudson who has solid ratings to help shore up your guard issues. Plus on top of all this you add another 1st in the deeeeeeeeep 2003 draft which gets your team A)younger and B) more talented.
