Sorry guys first timer here and I just to be clear on a few things.
1st, I understand we're drafting players as of 2001 so like LBJ, Melo, etc aren't in the league, yet... Will they be coming into the league? Will the rookie classes be the actual rookie classes from 2002 onward?
2nd, is there a potential rating? Is it based off what the players accomplished in real life? Like Kobe went on to be an amazing player, but in 2001 his career was just taking flight. Does he have a potential rating that will give him a great chance to be a stud?
Follow up to 2nd question, what about the players that had potential and got hurt and shit, or just got stuck in bad situations. How does the Sim rate them, what their actual potential was or what they accomplished in real life?
I just want to be clear before I make desicions based on bad information.
Thanks

We'll be drafting real classes from what I can tell, if you look down. The 2002 draft that will happen after our 1st season has Yao, Amare, Butler, etc incoming.
Potential is the last rating for a player if you look at the player pool. F being the worst, A being the best. From what I understand, it's random how a player progresses in this thing. A 19 year old with a A potential could drop to a C during the off season and never improve.
This thing won't mirror real life completely and guys like Darko or Kwame, etc may go on to be All-Star players on your team.

Thanks There is a potential rating. Check the list of eligible players, has all their potential ratings. Players ratings are based on how they were thought of in 2001. For example, Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown have great potential ratings and could develop into studs in our league because they were big time prospects at the time. Players won't necessarily develop how they did in real life, they will develop however it turns out in the sim. But they are rated how they would have been thought of in 2001. Everything that happens from here on out is an alternate universe. Get ready for All Star Dejuan Wagner.

Yeah the potential rating is there for each player and injuries and situations after 2001 are not incorporated. Eddie Griffin could end up being the next Kevin Garnett or a bust like he was.
In our initial draft the 2001 draft class is in the player pool. After that rookie classes will be made up by players from the real life rookie classes.

Another 1st timer question, how long does a season take to go bye? How many real hours is 1 day in Sim time?

"Now as for the schedule.
The league will get simmed once a day. First day of the season will be 10 days out of the 120 regular season games. The second day and third will be 5 days each and then back to 10 for the 4th and 5 sim days for the 5 and 6th games ect. As I said the league will have a 120 day regular season in which you will play 82 games. Day 100 will be trade deadline and no trades can go past that date until the draft. You can agree in principle for trades and post them but they can't be processed till Draft. If activity is high and lots of people are posting and talking about the season I may throw in another sim that day or instead of simming 5 one day I'll change it up and do 10."

I will sim once a day.
It will go 10 days of sim time, 5 days, 5 days, 10 days, 5 days, 5 days, ect.
In the event I'm feeling nice or I feel the board deserves to have another sim that day I will do it.
I won't sim 20 days in one day however.

Sometimes a season won't have many serious ones and sometimes they do.

OK question about draft pick trading. Me and the Heat agreed to potentially swap my 02 pick depending upon who's is first.
Despite it being a conditional swap, we still can't trade it right..

Beyond Depth chart how are minutes balanced? Like if want Carter to be a 40+ minute player as a starter, but Battier only 25, how does that work? Or does it?
