I think all buyouts should take place after the playoffs before FA, this way the bought out player can enter FA and we can all bid on him the way it should be. The notion of someone getting bought out mid-season at 10:14 PM and everybody setting their alarms for 2 days later at 10:14 is kinda silly.
That's just what I think. I'll go along with whatever Poe wants.

it is the most logical to buy someone out then, but if someone wants to buy them out earlier (for whatever reason) I think they should be able to. But I agree that they shouldn't be available to be signed until next year's free agency if that is the case.
That is how we handled Keon Clark when I bought him out before the final sim of the season.

That's what I suggested to Poe concerning Haslem, but he told me that the 48 hour rule was good enough :idk:

I waited to buyout Olo until post playoffs. It does seem really sketch that Haslem can be got for as cheap as he will. I know I was the idiot that signed him, but I just think its messed up

Yeah if someone wants to buy out a player ASAP then I agree he should be kept off limits till the offseason

Do we all agree at least delay Haslem until there's a ruling? I don't want chaos in 6 minutes.

I am with the rest of you
Try to do it before FA. If you do it after then player is off limit till the following FA market

If that's what you guys want I don't care. Just a long time to have a rosterable player sit out.

A player shouldn't hav to sit. I think there should be no rule as to when you can buyout a player.
I do think there should be a rule on who can sign him. 24 hours. Also to be playoff eligible he must be signed before day 100 to play in playoffs.
Irl there is a rule on this.

should make him sign a real contract and not a minimum one

I guess the issue is people don't want to race to be the first one to sign him or miss out by seconds, yada yada.
I guess the only fair way we could do it would be to make a thread for the player when he's bought out and everyone interested can say so in the thread. After the 48 hours is up, I can run a fantasy draft order thing like I do for the stashed players and whoever ends up #1 gets the player. :idk:

That seems fair poe. It's better than making him sit but hey, I'm just a cunt

Yeah, I don't really see a reason to make him sit out that many days. We're only 1 sim into the season. It's a fair way to do it and people won't have to worry about monitoring signings & cuts 24/7 to keep up with some of the GMs in the league.

I was just about to say that Poe. Do it like you do the stashed ratings, first 10 get in.
