Jeff Green
Age: 20
Height: 6'9''
Weight: 230
Position: F
School: Georgetown
Inside = B-: When given the ball inside in the right position, he has the ability to use his long arms and athleticism to make some very impressive finishes. Against future potential lottery pick Brandan Wright in the NCAA tournament, Green was pouring in points the old fashioned way – with his back to the basket. While the moves he displays are far from refined, besides his jump-hook, the touch is soft and he correctly identified that the skinny Wright did not want to start banging bodies with him.
Outside = C+: Green has shown the ability to step out and consistently knock down the three point shot, although primarily from a spot up position. When shooting on the move, his shot becomes increasingly more erratic.
Handling = C+: What makes Green unique is his skill-set at 6'9'' is something only seen in a handful of NBA players. The junior’s passing ability is what really makes him stand out, as he displays remarkable court vision for a player playing primarily at power forward. His height allows him to see over his man, and he is always looking to hit the open man with a well-timed dish. He could stand to improve his ball-handling, but compared to other prospects (especially those his size) he is above-average.
Defense = C+: As a rebounder and defender, Green is very solid. He has good physical tools, including strength and length, and is smart and fundamental enough to get the job done. There are some concerns about how he'll do defending athletic small forwards on the perimeter due to the way he's played in college at the power forward position, but he leaves the impression that he should be able to adapt fairly quickly.
Rebounding = C+: ^^^
Potential = A: How teams in the league use Green will determine what success he has as a pro. As a PF, he may be slightly undersized, but his mid-range game and passing ability should stretch the floor and open up a world of opportunities for his teammates. At the 3, while he isn't the quickest SF or most athletic, his size will make him a mismatch on offense and give his team extra help on the glass.
