Chris Paul
Age: 22
Height: 6’0’’
Weight: 180
Position: PG
College: Wake Forest
Inside = B-: Very explosive athlete that can get to the hoop better than one would expect from a PG with his lack of size. Scouts however wonder if that particular skill will diminish a bit in the NBA where size becomes more of an issue. Better scorer than his PPG would indicate.
Outside = B+: Was at 45% or better all 4 years at Wake Forest. Also a truly reliable FT shooter. Shouldn’t have a problem adjusting to the NBA 3 point line. If you give him an open look, he's going to make you pay.
Handling = B+: Paul’s bread and butter is his superb ballhandling. His first step is dynamic, he is in total control with the ball in his hands. The epitome of a floor general.
Defense = B-: While there are still concerns Paul’s size could hurt him against some of the bigger PGs in the NBA, the one area of Paul's game he set out to develop by coming back for his senior season was his defense, and he didn't disappoint. Paul gambled much less on steals, preferring to harass his man from one end of the floor to the other, forcing turnovers that set up fast break opportunities for himself and his teammates.
Rebounding = C: Paul averaged around 4 and a half boards a game over his career.
Potential = B: Paul leaves Wake Forest as one of the most decorated college PGs in decades. While he may have a few more miles on his odometer than most PG prospects, he still possesses the traits that made him a must-have prospect as early as his sophomore season. Given his diminutive stature, teams often tried to rough him up, which led to a few injuries over the course of his final 2 seasons. But make no mistake about it, CP3 is ready for the big stage.
