Ok, so I wanted to do something new and figured Id give this a shot. Basically the idea of it is rather simple, I made a point system based on the teams you have beaten. Im a big believer in looking at who youve beat rather than win-loss. For example a win against a current playoff team in the top 4 is worth more than a win against someone 5-8 which is worth more than a team outside the top 8 in either conference.
Obviously its not perfect because we all dont play the same number of games every sim but my hope is that towards the end of the season everything balances out.
So here we go. Star beside team name means playoff team.

Remember its early so this is just something to discuss and talk about to keep everything active. There are slight flaws due to the number of games and quality of opponents but just by beating the opponents you are expected to beat youll move up.

When I tallied up scores I was like this cant be right and triple checked it. 5 of their 9 wins are over EC leader Celtics WC leader Suns second place EC Hawks and 4th and 5th place Knicks and Eastern Conference Powerhouse Hornets. |

Final Thoughts
Take what you want from these numbers but what I gathered is that teams like the Nuggets had a very tough schedule this year and in turn knocked off a good bit of playoff teams and teams in the top 4 of either conference, while the Grizzlies possibly had an easier schedule netting them a solid amount of wins but not giving them enough quality wins to give them a great rating.
If I was using these to make any sort of predictions then it would go as followed
*Nets and Grizzlies will be knocked out of playoffs maybe being swept or winning one game.
* The Jazz, Sonics, Kings are essentially a toss up in terms of winning the WC and would be the favorites by far. (Jazz and Kings play in first round)
* The Celtics and Knicks would be a toss up in the EC but the Celtics are overwhelming favorites to win the crown.
My point system was rather simple and will be revamped in the future due to discrepancies I think I’ve found but for those curious.
Win vs Top 4 team- 2 points
Win vs Playoff team- 1 point
Win against non playoff team- .5 point
