Mock Lotto
1. Kevin GOAT sim league player Durant SF 6'10'' 215 18 B B+ C+ C+ C+ A
KD/CP3 is the hardest #1 decision in TMBSL history. While CP3 looks better right now, GOAT sim league player Durant has league-leading scoring potential and is only 18 years old. With Raymond Felton holding down the point for the Eastern Conference Powerhouse Hornets, this is an easy decision to make.
2. Chris Paul PG 6'0'' 180 22 B- B+ B+ B- C B
Best consolation prize possible. Even with Telfair, you can't pass up CP3 here. He's already a top-10 PG and with the B potential to grow into elite. I'm sure owners will be knocking down the door with offers for Paul, but i can't imagine ohhaithur will be tempted into giving up this stud.
3. Mike Conley Jr. PG 6'1'' 180 19 B- C- B B C A
Kahn missed out on the lotto, but still will get a solid foundation to build his new team around. The clear consensus is that Conley is in a tier of his own, "tier 1a". Not quite the star the top two guys are, but well ahead of the next group. An empty cupboard means that there's no positional worries to think about so BPA is the way to go.
4. Spencer Hawes C 6'11'' 250 19 B C+ C B- C A
The best team gets richer again. Thankfully for us, poetic didn't
5. Sean Williams C 6'10'' 235 20 C D+ C A- C A
This may come as a surprise, but Williams is a perfect fit. With Kurt Thomas leaving, there are 30 minutes per game on the table for a big. Williams is already a stud defender who will mask Horford's weakness there and can grow in time.
6. Michael Beasley SF 6'9'' 230 18 B B- C+ C- B- A
+1 inch, move to PF. Atlanta is in need of some inside scoring and Beasley will fit the bill. His defense is a liability right now, but he's immediately a backup at SF and PF for the Hawks and has great scoring potential off the bench.
7. OJ Mayo PG 6'4'' 200 19 B- B B- C C A
Mayo slips this far because of his defense and need above these picks. We need a PG and it's a perfect fit. Won't say more as to not give away details.
8. Kevin Love C 6'9'' 240 18 B- C+ C+ C B A
The best guard combo in the league needs some inside help and is sad to see the early run on bigs. They get the last of a good group though with KLove. Another weak defender though, unfortunately.
9. Tiago Splitter C 6'11'' 232 22 B C C- C+ B- B
Another team with a huge need inside grabs one. Since they don't seem ready to win this year, Splitter may be stashed overseas for a year or so to improve. But this squad didn't have a single double digit scoring PF/C last year. They can use that boost.
10. Corey Brewer SG 6'8'' 185 21 C+ C C B+ C+ A
What do you get the team that has everything? How about a nice defending guard with huge potential. Poe loves his defense and Brewer can help fill in if they happen to lose Udoka or Pietrus.
11. Demetris Nichols SF 6'8'' 216 23 C+ B+ C- C+ C B
Another two-pick team, the Bucks pick up a scoring threat on the wing. A great outside scorer already, Nichols can become a starter instantly with a defensive upgrade in DC. Or will he? Muhahaha.
12. Rodney Stuckey PG 6'5'' 207 21 B- B- B- C+ C B
After picking up a nice center, the Magic shift to a combo guard who can back up his two guard spots. Probably the best fit of any pick to a team in this draft.
13. Marc Gasol C 7'1'' 262 22 C+ C C- B- B- A
Or do I stand corrected? The TWolves are a perfect fit for Gasol, getting good defense and rebounding with the opportunity to send him overseas for two years. This works in their advantage as his contract is off their books while he signs FAs, not having Gasol helps Kahn tank again next year and Gasol has the potential to grow.
Rounding out the top 20 best prospects:
14. Nick Young
15. Stephane Lasme
16. Joel Anthony
17. Marco Blinelli
18. Rudy Fernandez
19. Ramon Sessions
20. Yi Jianlian
